About Saint Coffee Basil
St. Basil Coffee was founded in 2005 in response to Saint (Pope) John Paul II’s “Call to Social Justice.” Founders Mary and Jim Boyles received a request from Fr. Vince Thompson, a priest of the Congregation of Saint Basil, for much-needed financial assistance for the Basilian missions and particularly those in Colombia. Saint Basil Coffee became a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The Boyles family remain involved in the organization and its operations but have since passed on their roles to Linda and John Howard.
The Basilian mission and the “Call to Social Justice” fit hand in hand, and with that, Saint Basil Coffee was established to provide those most in need with the opportunity and tools to rise out of poverty, to “Make a Difference.”
Linda and John Howard
The Howards were interested in Saint Basil Coffee after reading a flyer posted on the St. Anne Bulletin. They too felt that JP2’s call to social justice and the Basilian mission went hand in hand, and they were eager to provide assistance where they could. They enjoy working with their team members and their customers to sell the freshest coffee you can buy. Their driving force for the past 10 years has been knowing that their efforts help people gain the tools and knowledge they need to rise up out of poverty.

VOLUNTEERS
Saint Basil Coffee has no employees and no assets. We depend entirely on volunteers to make the greatest impact on the missions we support. Saint Basil Coffee is entirely volunteer-run, so more money goes to people in need.
In addition to selling coffee online, coffee lovers in Houston can also pickup coffee after Masses at St. Anne Catholic Church located at 2140 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77098 every second full weekend of the month. Volunteers sign up to sell monthly, and it only takes about 20 minutes of time each month.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?
If you would like to help sell fresh coffee after Mass at St. Anne’s once a month or in another capacity, email John Howard.
