Stories from the Children of OLG Vol.1: Leonard and Valarie

The stories you are about to read were collected from our partner mission Our Lady of Grace School in Kisumu, Kenya. These are the authentic thoughts and feelings of the students positively impacted by your support. Thank you!

My name is Leonard

I’m six years old I live with my mum and my grandfather.

Lenard comes from a family of great difficulties. His mother is mentally challenged, his dad passed away and his sister is equally mentally challenged.

Leonard is a bright and happy child. The School provides him with all he needs while in School (uniforms, stationary, food and love).

My name is Valarie, I am in Grade one. I have attended OLG since I was three years old

I love our school so much.  We eat well, we play, we are loved by everyone at the school and our teachers are nice to us.

I live with my aunty, I do not remember my parents, they passed while I was a baby.

I don’t like school break (Holiday) because I miss my friends, I do not play or eat nice food while I’m home.

When I grow up, I want to be a good mother and an administrator like Madam Maria.
